Quirk's Sam Beckbessinger named best New Talent in Ad Industry November 24, 2011
Marketing agency Quirk, recently named South Africa’s Best Digital agency at the Bookmarks awards, has another star in its midst. Our very own Sam Beckbessinger romped home with the prestigious ‘New Broom Award for Young Talent’ at the annual AdFocus Awards held last night at the Arena Royale, at Broadacres, in Fourways.
The award recognizes the best new talent in digital – an acknowledgement for the contributions Beckbessinger has made to South Africa’s marketing landscape.
Beckbessinger is Quirk Jozi’s premier strategy planner who develops and guides long-term digital marketing strategies for their Blue Chip clients.
This talented 24-year-old is responsible for curating insights and understanding the role of the brand. She also conducts research, co-ordinates campaign idea development and undertakes regular audits on brand performance online.
Beckbessinger said, “It was an incredible surprise to have won. I’ve been very lucky in having some amazing mentors in my life who have supported me beyond what anyone could ask.”
“I was ecstatic when I was announced the winner and the support I received from my peers was phenomenal, I couldn’t have asked for more,” she said.
The AdFocus Awards recognises organisations that operate in the advertising, branding, design, media, public relations and marketing realms.
Quirk’s Agency chief executive officer, Justin Spratt, says it was a well deserved accolade for one the brightest stars in the industry.
“Her undying commitment to Quirk and its clients is unrivalled and we are extremely proud that she has been recognized by the entire industry - it’s a tremendous achievement for a young lady with a bright future,” he said.
