Quirk is now Mirum

Sarah Manners

Creative Group Head & Min Pin Mummy

As a mere twinkle in Quirk’s eye, Sarah Manners started her journey to becoming Creative Group Head at the University of Stellenbosch. From there she emerged with a BA majoring in Political Science, Sociology and Psychology and headed off to collect a post graduate from AAA. Sarah then entered the “real world” of employment and started as a Marketing Manager for a school. She quickly realised that this particular career track involved teenagers so she made the leap to the semi-grownups at Quirk.

Now Sarah has her fingers in every copy-related pie in the office, from editing the Quirk newsletter to writing and proof-reading entire websites. With her wealth of knowledge and experience, Sarah also helped create the Writing for Digital course and sometimes acts as a guest lecturer at UCTRed and Yellow and AAA. Being brilliant doesn’t stop her desk and personal belongings being strategically wrapped in newspaper from time to time, however.

Besides grammar and punctuation and beautifully crafted sentences, Sarah lives for her family, friends and all small fluffy creatures. She has her own collection of cuddly companions of the feline variety, namely Posh, Becks and (recently adopted) Catty Potter. When the weekend rolls around, Sarah grabs a cup of tea and a good book or hangs out with her cats, Min Pin, Weed and her rugger bugger fiancé, Dave. She also reallywants a Ferret, but unfortunately, no matter how many times she Googles it - the South African government just won't change the rules.
