Banele Mashinini

Intern & All-round Sweetie Pie

When Banele joined us in March 2016, the Jozi office gained a kind-hearted intern. It was while studying Marketing Management at the Central Johannesburg College that she realised her passion for marketing and curiosity around the way consumers behave.

Mom to an inquisitive baby girl, this calm problem-solver’s hero has always been her mom (cute!). Bee loves pop rock music, really dislikes selfish people, and would love to meet Michael Bolton. Growing up, her bedroom walls were plastered with some of her favourite quotes, photos of her family and friends, a periodic table and a few posters of 90s icons, Britney SpearsChristina Aguilera, and Westlife.

Banele brings a special sense of calm and tranquillity wherever she goes, which is perhaps why her friends describe her as “diligent, warm, welcoming, and a good advisor”, and why she says her defining characteristic is the respect she has for herself and others. She is always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a friendly smile. Although she’s not a big drinker, she’ll still have a jol upstairs in the bar – especially when her fave karaoke song, Westlife’s Flying Without Wings comes on!
