Geoff Best is the Cape Town QuirkStation’s Desktop Support guru, Grant’s Wright-hand man and has already acquired the affectionate name, “Joff”. Growing up, he dreamt of being a Marine Biologist and idolised Samurais, but becoming a sword-wielding sea protector was not to be. After school, Joff headed off to study Sound Engineering at Allenby Campus and once he had that under his belt, went on to complete a Networking Specialist course at IT Business Campus. Odd choices? Not really, Geoff plays in a rock band and since he had an interest in PCs – he wanted to further his understanding of it. A rocking computer nerd – we love the combo!
Before coming to help us with our daily computer related dramas, Geoff’s daily life consisted of work, watching series, playing World of Warcraft and sleep. He treasures his home entertainment system (typical man) and his beloved motorbike, which is why he can’t live without Bike EXIF. Geoff’s ideal day off would start off with a late indulgent breakfast, followed by an exhilarating ride and an evening spent chilling around the braai with his wife, friends and 2 cats.
He hates it when people unnecessarily say “cheers bye” and had he the choice, would eradicate all traffic from the roads (starting with the Eastern Boulevard, we hope!). Geoff could spend hours watching Supernatural and Battlestar Galatica and, to let you in on a little secret, he had to ask his parents to sign his wedding registry as he was underage! Rock on Geoff, it’s great to have you here.
